Diwali is a Hindu religious festival of lights and is one of the most important festivals of Hinduism. The festival usually lasts for five days, or six days in some parts of India, and is celebrated in the Hindu lunar month of Kartika (between mid-October and mid-November). One of the most popular festivals in Hinduism, Diwali is a spiritual symbol of "the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance." The festival is widely associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and Ganesha, the god of wisdom and removal of obstacles, with many other regional traditions dedicating the holiday to Sita and Rama, Vishnu, Krishna, Durga, Shiva, Kali, Hanuman, Cobra connects.
