Remember the bitter past at the Museum of WWII

POLAND // The exhibits begin mildly enough, in the reconstructed 1930s apartment of a family of Polish Jews. But the sense of horror quickly grows. Nazi propaganda posters. Sherman tanks. A hall lined with images of bombed-out cities. Then, most affectingly, personal artefacts - farewell notes, house keys belonging to Jews who never came home. Ironically, this masterwork of remembrance has been under attack since it opened in 2017, by a right-wing government that says it's not sufficiently patriotic.
