Stroll through the Greco Roman city of Ephesus
Ephesus is an ancient city in Turkey’s Central Aegean region, near modern-day Selçuk. Its excavated remains reflect centuries of history, from classical Greece to the Roman Empire – when it was the Mediterranean’s main commercial center – to the spread of Christianity. Paved streets wind past squares, baths and monumental ruins. The Temple of Hadrian was built before 138 A.D. for Emperor Hadrian’s visit.

Stroll through the Greco Roman city of Ephesus
TURKEY // Ephesus is one of the most phenomenal ancient sites in the world. It was once an important city for the Greeks, and the Romans made this great port the capital of Asia Minor. The Temple of Artemis, the biggest ever built, is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Most of the ancient city has yet to be excavated, which makes you marvel at what still lies beneath. What's exposed is wonderfully impressive - from the towering columns of the Library of Celsus to the grand amphitheatre. The mosaics, frescoes and gladiator graffiti of the seven terraced houses show how rich Romans lived. As you walk down the 210m-long (690ft), marble-paved Curetes Way, imagine the other sightseers in togas to evoke this great classical city.
