Hike the Lowlands to the Highlands on West Highland Way

SCOTLAND // You can take the low road or the high road on the West Highland Way, which begins on the outskirts of Glasgow and finishes beneath the looming mass of Ben Nevis. It passes Loch Lomond and Tyndrum, heads through vast Rannoch Moor, and runs along disused railways and drovers' tracks. The 155km (96-mile) route takes a week to walk, but it's possible to take on a single stretch, hop on a water bus en route, or detour to the ridges and peaks around it.
