Beach-hop on Brazil's Fernando de Noronha

BRAZIL // In one of the most beach-blessed countries on Earth,  this volcanic archipelago still stands out. Flung more than 350km  (220 miles) off the coast, its 21 islands are a playground of  parakeet-green hills, diamond-bright sands and waters aswim  with sea turtles and dolphins. With water too warm to require  a wetsuit, it's a diver's playland. Everyone else can spend their  time toasting on the beaches and hiking amid the crumbling  Portuguese forts.
