Inhale the perfume of a thousand scents in Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden

SOUTH AFRICA // Kirstenbosch is one of the world's greatest botanical gardens, with its 5-sq-km (1.9-sq-mile) showcase of the Unesco-protected Cape Floral Kingdom, which has the planet's highest concentration of plant species. Wandering Kirstenbosch's garden paths and forest trails, you can see over 7000 floral species, including South Africa's national flower, the king protea, and other members of the heathery fynbos family. However, impressive as its fragrant plants walk and its valley of cycads are, Kirstenbosch is more than a garden. To start with, there's its location on the side of Table Mountain, which the Skeleton Gorge and Nursery Ravine trails climb from the garde.
