About Masuleh
The name has its original pronunciation which is Mooslah but in the Talshi language. The name was kept back in the 8th and 9th centuries and some people think that the name was kept so because of the mountains available nearby named Mahsalar. According to locals, the name was Masala but eventually, it was kept as Masuleh.
On the other hand, its architecture belongs to the period of Zandiyeh and it is even built in a unique stepped manner.
The houses are pretty interesting you know why? Each house in Masuleh has two parts which are the winter part and the summer part. The roofs of the houses are even as beautiful as the houses and they are built by leaning towards the mountains where the front part of the house also dominates the back.
The houses here are created by a single piece of rock where in its inner part there is a great source of natural water. This is the main reason architects do not touch the stones and do not even break them.

Masuleh is also protected against other problems like rock falls, floods or even earthquakes. The site is yet to be registered under UNESCO's World Heritage Site.

Sites Worth Visiting in Masuleh

Last but not least you can also visit the Torishum waterfall and enjoy its beauty. It is about 2,850 meters in its height. It has a gorgeous forest path that takes you to the Torishum waterfall.
Apart from these natural beauties, you can even visit the Masuleh Museum which is a wildlife museum. It is adjacent right to the tomb of Aun Bin Ali which is also a cultural heritage Museum.
