Burning the Clocks Brighton

While you might hear the word 'festival' and think mud, wipes and raves, Burning the Clocks in Brighton is a more mellow take on the whole family.
On December 21, the shortest day of the year, crowds led by community arts charity Same Sky walk the streets of the city with paper lanterns. As crowds gather on Brighton Beach, lanterns are added to the communal bonfire, which is lit as families reflect on the end of the year and watch the fireworks display.

Since 1994, Same Sky has brought the community together for one night to give thanks during the holiday season. I really want to go to this December festival - it has to happen this year!
