The Golden Temple is a Gordwara located in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, India. This is the spiritual highlight of Sikhism. The man-made pool at the temple site was completed in 1577 by the fourth Guru Sikh, Guru Ram Das. In 1604, Guru Arjan owned a copy of Adi Grant in Harmandir.

 

What is the story of Amritsar Golden Temple?

The first Harmandir Sahib was built in 1604 by Arjan, the fifth Sikh Guru, who symbolically placed it on a lower level so that even the humble had to descend to enter. He also placed entrances on the four sides, indicating that it was open to worshipers from all walks of life and creeds.
